24, 2005 Budget Meeting
Motion: I
move we waive the reading of the Minutes of the October 24, 2005
Budget Meeting and accept same as presented.

1. Public
Hearing – Continuation of Proposed 2006 Operating, Capital
Reserve, Liquid Fuels, Water and Sewer Budgets (Review
and Discussion).
Chairman
Paulus opened the Public Hearing relative to the Proposed
2006 Budgets. The Township Manager advised that in attendance
at the meeting were the Township’s Fire Chief, Robin
Yoder, and the Township’s Public Works Director, Bruce
Pudliner, who were available at tonight’s meeting to
review the Fire Company and Emergency Management Budgets
and the Highway Budget.
Council
began its review with the Township Fire Chief and in particular
the Department for Fire. Fire-Building Materials was revised
from $6,000 to $8,000. Council further determined to revise
the line item for Fire Building Utilities from $12,000 to
$13,000. With respect to the Emergency Management Budget,
Council made no changes to the Proposed Budget. There was
also discussion with respect to the purchase by the Township
of a defibrillator to be kept at the Township Municipal Building.
The Township Fire Chief advised that he would provide the
Township with all necessary information for such a purchase.
With respect
to the Highway Department, Council began a review with the
Public Works Director. It was determined that the line item
for Street Paint and Road Signs would be increased from $20,000
to $24,000. With respect to the line item for Equipment Rental/Pager,
Council discussed the possibility of purchasing additional
phones for the two Maintenance employees who do not have
same at the present time. Council requested the Administrative
Staff to determine the current cost and the potential future
cost and report back to the Board regarding same. Council
also discussed the intended purchase of a new Township car.
It was determined that the car would be a mid-size (6 cylinder)
American made vehicle.
At this
point in the meeting, Chairman Paulus closed the Public Hearing
on the Proposed 2006 Budgets which will be continued on Monday,
November 7, 2005 at 7:00 P.M.
New
Business:
1. Resolution
No. 2005-30, A Resolution Adopting an Emergency Operations
Plan for Hanover Township (Vote).
In resolution
of this matter, Council made the following motion.

24, 2005 Budget Meeting and accept same as presented.
